Anyway it is a new year and I'm going to try and catch up with my posting. Lets see, where do I begin? I guess I'll start with the first thing I did since my last post and that is "Let it Snow". She was so much fun to make, I LOVED making her. I had planned on making a Mr. Snowman but didn't get around to it - definitely next year. Here is a picture of her.
The beginning of December we had our last NO RULES meeting. With the very busy lives of some of the women it was just too much and something had to go. It was a great group and fun meetings while it lasted, some great memories to keep. We met at my house and finished up a few projects that we didn't get to then had a small party. Everyone brought something to eat and I made pizza. We watched Leslie Molen's DVD on face sculpting while we ate. It was a lovely day. The first project I'll show is the little doll from Cloth, Paper Scissors. That issue was the Nov/Dec 09 issue and it had a quirky little doll. We each made our own parts out of muslin, some people chose to change the shape a little. Then we put all the parts in a bag and chose a head/body, 2 arms and 2 legs. We then painted and embellished the parts then at our last meeting we put the parts back in a bag and chose them and sewed them together. We did make sure we each had at least one part from each person. Here is a picture of mine. Teresa embellished the head/body and painted a beautiful face. She also embellished the blue leg. Carolyn embellished the white arm and Pam embellished the blue arm and I embellished the green leg. She is so cute!! Then we exchanged our quiltie squares. We each chose a theme, mine was dolls, and we made a 6X6 square for each in the chosen theme. Then at this meeting we gave each other the squares that we had made and we placed eyelets at each corner and they will be strung together. I haven't done that part yet but here are the individual squares. First is Carolyn's then mine then Teresa's then Pam's. I am going to paint a dowel and hang some ribbon on each end to hang it to the wall then I'll find some fibers and tie each quiltie together to hang down. It will be pretty. I'll take another picture when it is done.
Then at our December Time For Dolls meeting we had a Christmas/Holiday party and we had a pin doll exchange. We each made a pin doll and wrapped it. We put them is a bag and since Barb wasn't able to finish hers she got to play Santa and passed out a wrapped doll to each person. Here is a picture of the pin dolls.
From left to right, the gingerbread man was the one I made, then Pam's Paloma's Evelyn's and Deborah's. I received Deborah's - it is soo cute!!! That was a lot of fun. Then we each brought something to eat, everything was so yummy!! A great time was had by all.
